She was united in marriage February 9, 1876, to James Allen Louks. They had journeyed together for almost fifty-nine years when he passed on two years ago. To this union ten children were born, seven sons and three daughters. Rachel Ann Christy gave her life into the hands of her Creator at the age of 15 years, when she joined the Missionary Baptist church. She was immersed and lived faithful to her belief until she accepted the Christian Science belief. For forty-eight years her only physician was her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, to whom she remained faithful to the end.

She departed this life as quietly as she had lived. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Her beautiful trust in her Saviour will be a guiding star to her family throughout the years.
