Funeral Services for Mrs. Frank Elliott

Collins, April 27--Funeral services for the late Mrs. Frank Elliott of Collins who passed away at the Iowa Lutheran hospital on Tuesday morning, April 20 at six p. m. was held from the Collins Methodist church Friday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. The services were in charge of the Rev. Ray Thompson, pastor of the U. B. church assisted by the Rev. Ida E. Roberts of the Methodist church. A quartet, composed of Mrs. Kenneth Tomlinson, Mrs. A. L. Pitcher, J. G. Gingles and J. R. Witmer with Mrs. Fertig at the piano sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," "The Lord Knows Why," "In the Upper Gardens." The floral offerings were very beautiful and were cared for by Mrs. Ora Hanson and Mrs. O. N. Serbein. Interment was at Webster City her former home and the burial service was in charge of the O.E.S. of Williams, Iowa, as she was a member of that chapter. Pallbearers were long time friends of the family and were Tom Carver, Mr. Spivey, Bradford Stevens, Elmer Bence, Ray Tiffany and Dan Wilson.

The following brief obituary was read by Rev. Thompson.

Kathryn Elizabeth Bosley [should be Balsley] was born September 22, 1879 at Webster City and grew to womanhood in that community. She was first married to Minor C. Runyon of Williams and to that union one daughter Mrs. Veda Runyon Butler was born.

She was again married to Frank Elliott of Collins on January 15, 1930 and for the past five years they have made their home on the farm east of Collins. She was a member of the Methodist church and the Order of the Eastern Star at Williams. She is survived by her husband, her daughter Mrs. Butler of Williams, a grandson Thomas Butler, who hade his home with her, five brothers and two sisters as well as a number of nieces and nephews and more distant relatives. Mrs. Elliott made many friends during her life in this community and her passing will be truly mourned by them. The services were largely attended many relatives and friends coming from a distance to pay their respects and express their regrets at her passing.
