Death Friday Of George Koontz, 84

George Koontz, 84, long time resident of Story county, died Friday at 11 a.m. at Broadlawns hospital in Des Moines where he had been a patient for a few weeks.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 9:30 at St. Cecelia's Catholic church in Ames. Burial will be in the Nevada Catholic cemetery by the side of the wife, who passed away about ten years ago.

Mr. Koontz is survived by two sons, Leo of Seattle, Wash., who had been here and had left for home on Thursday, Ray of Polk City where the father had been making his home, and one daughter Mildred, Mrs. Joseph Smay of Norman, Okla., who had also been here and returned home. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Bell O'Neil of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Ella Kooser of Mankato, Minn., and one brother, Elmer Koontz of Ames.
