Obituary from Memorial Services of Iowa, Ankeny, Polk County, Iowa:

Myrna Lee (Shultz) Nordin, 80, took her finial journey home surrounded with the love of her children and family, at Mary Greely Medical Center in Ames, Iowa on February 25, 2018. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Memorial Services of Iowa Funeral Home in Ankeny, Iowa with a reception to follow.

She was born on March 30, 1937 in Ames, Iowa, daughter of Alfred and Ruth Shultz. She married Jerald Nordin on June 18, 1955. They started their family in 1957 and raised five children. They celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary in June of last year.

Myrna worked many jobs over the years. From selling Avon and babysitting while children were young, to warehouse market, the Ramada Inn, and the University Inn.

Myrna enjoyed taking care of her husband, the love of her life Jerry, reading, gardening, and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Myrna is survived by her sons; Jeff (Julie) Nordin of Ames, Tim (Becky) Nordin of Boone, Chris Nordin and Todd Nordin of Ames; daughter Tonia (Kurt) Moore of Boone; sisters Shelia Waterbury and Pamela Stewart of Mesa, AZ; brother Rick Maxwell of Ames; 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jerald Nordin, her parents, stepfather, 1 sister, 1 brother, and 1 grandson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Israel House Hospice in Ames.
