NEGLIA, BROOKS, ANTRIM, KABALA

Maxwell Book: 1883-1983

Dr. and Mrs. F. J. Neglia and daughter Sunday arrived in Maxwell, Iowa by train in September 1946. They came to make their home and for the doctor to practice medicine.

Dr. Neglia was born in New York City, graduated from Spring Valley High School. In 1936 he received his A. B. Degree from West Virginia University. In 1937-38, were spent doing graduate work at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., where he received his Master of Science degree. Then he entered Georgetown University School of Medicine from 1938-1942, receiving his M. D.

During WWII, Dr. Neglia served as flight surgeon in the Air Force, then came directly to Maxwell where he medically served the community and surrounding areas for 35 years, retiring in September 1981.

Mrs. Irene (Brooks) Neglia was born in Clinton, Tennessee. She graduated from Jacksboro High School and from Tennessee Wesleyan College.

In 1941 Irene Brooks of Oliver Springs, Tennessee and Dr. Neglia were united in marriage. They have two daughters: Mrs. Richard (Sunday) Antrim of Clinton, Iowa and Mrs. Michael (Angela) Kabala of Maxwell. They are the proud grandparents of Susan and Alicia Antrim, and Sarah and David Kabala.
