Mrs. Linda Zevenbergen, age 72, of Orange City, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2026, at her home in Harlingen, Texas.

A visitation with the family present will be held on Sunday, June 7, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City. There will be a funeral service on Monday, June 8, at 10:30am, at the Maurice Reformed Church in Maurice, with the Rev. Jeremy Van Genderen officiating. Following a time of lunch and fellowship, interment will take place at the West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City. The Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City is in charge of arrangements.

Linda Faye was born on October 7, 1953, in Sioux Center, the daughter of Jonathan and Elizabeth (Vander Veen) DeBondt. She grew up in rural Ocheyedan with her parents and four siblings on the farm. Linda was the oldest of the five children and worked hard helping her father with chores and her mother with household duties. She attended the Ocheyedan school and graduated in 1972. After graduation she attended beauty school in Spencer. Linda was a great hair stylist who did hair for many folks throughout the years; just ask to see her children’s early photos sometime, and you will see her handy work. While living and working for a while in Sioux City, she met Gregory Hanson, and the two were married in 1974. From that union five children were born. This marriage ended in 1983. Linda met Daniel Zevenbergen in 1989, and the couple were married on June 16, 1990. They resided in Orange City with Linda's five children and Daniel's two children.

Linda was a great baker; famous in these parts for her wonderful pies, bread puddings, and other wonderful desserts. She could bake anything. She enjoyed flower gardening, watching the birds from her windows, camping, fishing, and the outdoors; often looking up to the heavens and star gazing. She looked forward to a good Midwestern thunderstorm and would be upset if there was no thunder. She loved the Lord, and Jesus was her Savior.

Linda had many health struggles over the past ten years yet remained strong throughout all of them. Since 2020, Linda and her loving husband Daniel were snowbirds in Harlingen, Texas, where Linda enjoyed the beach and live music nights in the park. Following two difficult months in the hospital, Linda was moved to her home in Harlingen, where she passed away peacefully.

She is survived by her husband of almost 36 years, Daniel, of Orange City; her five children, Sara (Kelly) Dobbs, of Sioux City; Jason (Jennifer Saavedera) Hanson, of Hull; Carrie Frazier, of Marietta, Georgia; Lana (Steven) DeJager, of Reeds Spring, Missouri; and Lindsay Schwebach, of Hospers; two stepchildren, Ryan Zevenbergen and Cara Zevenbergen. She was Gramma to her fifteen grandchildren, Brendon, Kamron, Lillie, Joey, Sydney, Emerson, Isabella, Jonah, Elliott, Faith, Connor, Xander, Peyton, Brady, and Noah. And Great Gramma to Miles and Reid. She is also survived by her four siblings, Debra (Kim) Thomas, Sandra (Leon) DeBoer, Jeff (Amy) DeBondt, and Bradley DeBondt; along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sweet granddaughter, Shianne.

Her husband, children, and all of her grandchildren want to express their love and gratitude for the time they did have with her and are comforted to know she is no longer in pain. May she rest in peace in her eternal home with her Heavenly Father and loved ones. Make it well with my soul.

Memorials will be given to the family for future designation.
