OSCAR STREFF

Mrs. Matt Klein received word Sunday of the unexpected death of her brother, Oscar Streff, 57, of Grand Junction, Colo. Mrs. Klein, her sister, Irene (Mrs. Ward Batmen) of LeMars and Com. Dale Klein of Fort Omaha left by plane Tuesday to attend funeral services Wednesday morning.

He is survived by his wife and son Tom, two grandchildren, Peter and Paul, and his mother Mrs. Magdalene Streff of Le Mars, and the two sisters.

Oscar and his wife, the former Anita Teeslink, recently visited here coming for the 92nd birthday of his mother Nov. 24. They spent Thanksgiving Day with relatives. He died of a heart attack.

His Iowa marriage record shows him as Oscar C. Streff, age 21, farmer, residence Alton, Iowa, born at Alton, parents Peter Streff and Magdalen Hostert; bride Anita F. Teeslink, age 22, residence Alton, born at Crawford, Colorado, parents James Teeslink and Jeannette Hyink; married at Alton August 9, 1933.

His World War II draft registration card (16 Oct 1940) shows him (Oscar Clyde Streff) at age 27 living in Los Angeles, California, employed by Arden Farms; height 6 feet, weight 240, light brown complexion, brown eyes, brown hair; next of kin his mother Magdalene Streff.

City directories on Ancestry.com show him and Anita living in Grand Junction, Colorado in the 1950s and 1960s, with him working as a Public Service groundsman and line truck operator and Anita as a legal secretary. Their son Thomas C. and his wife Venta also live in Grand Junction.
