Nick Slager, 87, of Hull, died Friday at the Rock Valley hospital after an apparent heart attack.

Services were 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First Reformed Church in Hull. The Reverend Gerald Vander Velde officiated. Burial was in Hope Cemetery at Hull under the direction of Kraai Funeral Home. Visitation was held from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Slager was born on June 1, 1895 in the Netherlands. He came to America at age 25 and farmed in the Hull area.

He married Coba Van Sloten on December 9, 1942 at Hull. He was a member of the First Reformed Church in Hull.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. David (Geneva) Elbers of Mission, Texas; three step-daughters, Mrs. John (Lucille) Maryfield of Mesa, Arizona, Mrs. Harold (Augusta) Bolks of Hull, Mrs. Neal (Gladys) Ripley of Lincoln, Missouri; four step-sons, Donald De Boer and Chester De Boer, both of Hull, Robert De Boer of Owasso, Oklahoma, and Bernard De Boer of LeMars; one grandchild and 22 step-grandchildren.
