LIFELONG RESIDENT WAS VICTIM OF CANCER

Henry Roelfson lifelong resident of Alton, died early Monday morning at his home in Alton at the age of 58 years. He had been ailing for some time and death came as a result of cancer of the lungs.

Mr. Roelfson was born April 25, 1895 at Alton. He was preceded in death by his father, John Roelfson, and mother, nee Martjie Teysen, and two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Peuse and Mrs. Nancy Lam.

He is survived by one brother, Everett of Alton, three sisters, Hattie of Alton, and Jennie (Mrs. John Kamstra) and Effie (Mrs. Herman Hulst), both of Hospers.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the First Reformed Church in Orange City with Dr. Henry Colenbrander in charge. Interment was in the Nassau Township Cemetery at Alton. The six pallbearers, all nephews of the deceased, were Henry Hust of Ashton, John Hulst of Hospers, Ed Hulst of Sheldon, John Peuse of Sioux City and Ed Peuse and Henry Peuse, both from Orange City.

Mr. Roelfson was a member of the First Reformed Church.
