MRS. F. J. PARROTT FUNERAL SUNDAY

Mrs. Frank J. Parrott, resident of this community for forty-six years, died at her home Thursday after dying on October 30, after an illness of five weeks. Mrs. Parrott had always been in apparent good health and had led an active life until the onset of her illness. Death was caused by cerebral thrombosis.

Mary Adella “Della” Eddy, the youngest daughter of Mary and Thomas Eddy was born in Grant County, Wisconsin, May 19, 1874, and passed away in her home on October 30, 1941, at 1:00 P.M. having reached the age of 67 years, 5 months and 11 days.

Adella Eddy, with her parents and two younger sisters moved to Carroll, Iowa, where she grew to young womanhood. Previous to her marriage she assisted her uncle, W.F. McPherson, in the Post Office in Hawarden.

On February 20, 1895, she was united in marriage to Frank J. Parrott. To this union two daughters were born: Mrs. Edward Kading of Ireton, and Mrs. Edwin Roberts of Madison, Wisconsin. Mrs. Parrott’s entire married life was spent in and near Ireton.

She leaves to mourn her loss her husband and two daughters; two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Morehouse and Mrs. S. L. Fusch of Madison, Wisconsin; one nephew, Sherman Lee Fusch and many other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Parrott was an active member of the Methodist Church, the Women’s Society of Christian Service, and the order of the Eastern Star.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, November 1, at 2:00 P.M., the Reverend F.G. Grantham officiating. A Quartette composed of Mrs. Stanley Hopper, Madge Satterlee, Lloyd Simons and Keith Vander Water, and accompanied by Mrs. A.W. Bartlett sang two numbers, “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere” and “In the Garden.”
