Hattie De Gooyer Pas peacefully departed this life February 26, at the age of 79 years.

One week previous she had celebrated her birthday anniversary with some of her children, grandchildren, relatives and friends.

She was born at Bennikum [sic] The Netherlands, February 19, 1869. At the age of three years she came to the United States with her parents, who settled in this vicinity.

As part of a double wedding ceremony, she was united in marriage to Gerrit C. Pas, October 7, 1891, at Alton, Iowa. The other couple married at this ceremony was I.A. Wormhout and Minnie Harmelink.

Gerrit Pas preceded his wife in death on September 16, 1918.

Surviving are their nine children, Mrs. G. J. Beyer of Orange City, Mrs. George A. Simons of Sioux City, John A. Pas of Scaramento California, George W. Pas of Bellflower, California, Frank W. Pas of Sac City, Mrs. Edward Schreur of Orange City, Harold H. Pas of Washington, D.C., Ivan Q. Pas of Sioux City, and Wesley G. Pas of Sioux City. It was her unhappy experience to see her children participate in two world wars. She did realize a full life as described in Job 5:26: "Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like as a,shock of corn cometh in; in his season."

All the children were home for the funeral.
