Mother of Six Children Taken After a Few Days Illness From Dread Disease

The community was indeed shocked last week Thursday to hear that the Grim Reaper had again invaded our section and taken as its toll the young mother and wife, Mrs. Dick Heusinkveld.

Ella DeBoer was born December 3rd, 1891 at Alton, Iowa, where the family resided. At the age of one year she moved with her parents to this vicinity where she has lived continuously until her death. She attended and graduated from the Hull High School in 1909 after which she attended Hope College at Holland, Michigan, for two years, and then taught school for three years.

On February 16, 1915 she was married to Mr. Dick Heusinkveld, and to this union seven children were born, one of which died in infancy. Those surviving to mourn with the father, the loss of a good wife and mother, are Harriet, George, Henry, Myron, Willis, and Francis.

She is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: John De Boer of Hull; Rev. Douwie DeBoer of Norwich, New York; Cornelius De Boer of Arlington, South Dakota; Mrs. F. Baker of Edgerton, Minnesota.

The funeral was held from the home and from the American Reformed church last Monday afternoon and the remains were laid to rest in Hope Cemetery. The Index joins in extending sincere sympathy to the bereaved husband, children and all other relatives.
