From the Sioux County Index, December 13, 1929:

Mrs. Lucinda Harrington Passed Away Nov. 28, 1929

Mrs. Lucinda Harrington of Hastings, Nebraska, passed away November 28th, 1929, at 1:30 a.m., at her daughter’s (Mrs. Frank Miller) home, Hull, Iowa.

Mrs. Harrington nee Lucinda Buskirk was born January 17, 1850 in Centerville, Indiana. In later years she moved with her parents to Illinois. In 1875 she was united in marriage to Mr. John Shutter and to this union were born two children, Maud and Etta. Two years later she was left a widow by the death of her husband.

A few years later, she moved to Hull, Iowa, with her two brothers and their families. In the year of 1882 she was united in marriage to Henry Harrington of Hull, Iowa, and to them were born four children, Cora, Frank, Mona, and Leah. They moved to Hastings, Nebraska, in 1906. Mr. Harrington passed on eleven years ago, since which time Mrs. Harrington and her daughter Etta have lived together in Hastings, Nebraska. Mrs. Harrington came to visit her daughter, Mrs. Miller, four weeks ago.

She had not been feeling well for about seven weeks, but was not thought to be in a critical condition. She seemed to be feeling better and more joyful, Wednesday, when in the night she was awakened by a severe attack of heart trouble, which took her quickly.

She leaves four children: Mrs. A. J. Simmons, Mount Vernon, Washington; Frank Harrington, Almora, Colorado; Mrs. Frank Miller, Hull, Iowa; Miss Etta of Hastings; two brothers, Mr. J. C. Buskirk, Spencer, Iowa, and L. H. Buskirk of Hastings, Nebraska, together with many near relatives and hosts of friends to mourn her loss.

She was a wonderful mother and a true friend and loved by all who knew her. She loved her God and served Him devotedly and always wanted to be led by the supreme omnipotent mind—God. She was a member of the Christian Science Church and had been for years.
