Johnson, Alice Carry born 1852 died 10 Sep 1933 Rock Valley IA buried in Valley View cemetery Rock Valley IA.. Her death record indicates she was Alice Blount daughter of Cornelius Blount and Jane Smith, she was married to Wm. W. Johnson 1838-1934.

Mrs. Alice Cary Johnson, wife of W. W. Johnson, passed away at her home in Rock Valley Sunday morning at 8:30 o’clock. Mrs. Johnson was taken sick on Tuesday preceding her death. Pneumonia developed and in spite of all that could be done for her, she passed peacefully on to her reward.

Mrs. Johnson, second daughter of C. Blont and his wife Jane Smith Blont, was born in Waukesha, WI, August 24, 1852, where he early life was spent. She was untied in marriage with William W. Johnson at Decorah, Iowa, March 11, 1874. Had she lived until next March 11, they would have celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary. After their marriage they made their home at LoRoy, Minn., where they resided from 1874" until 1893, and then moved to Rock Valley. After four years residence here, they moved to Hartley IA, where Mr. Johnson conducted an elevator for seventeen years. They returned to Rock Valley in 1914 and since that time have made this place their home.

Mrs. Johnson vas a woman who was admired by all who knew her. She was a woman of quiet and unassuming disposition and one who made friends of those with whom she camo in contact. She was kind and loving wife and mother, a, her place in the home circle can never be filled.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her aged husband, one daughter, Mrs. Grace J. Large, and one son, Arthur C. Johnson, of Rock Valley, and one sister,- Mrs. Mary J. Larrabee, of Le Roy, Minn., and three grand-children.

Funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Tyler of the Methodist church and the remains were taken to the Valley View cemetery, The bereaved relatives have the sincere sympathy of many friends in their sorrow.
