George H. Noble

George H. Noble was born to Albert and Orpha (Millard) Noble on Sept. 4, 1909, in Plymouth County, where he was raised and attended country school. On Sept. 27, 1930, he was united in marriage to Clara Beitelspacher in Craig; Following their marriage, they lived and farmed in Plymouth County and Sioux County. In 1959, they moved to Altona Township, Pipestone County, Minnesota, where he farmed.

Clara preceded him in death on Sept. 30, 1977. Following her death, he continued to farm in Pipestone County until 1980, when he retired and moved to Lake Benton, Minnesota. On May 4, 1989, he was united in marriage to Rose Nolan in Lake Benton. In mid-December 1998, he and Rose became residents at the Tyler Health Care Center in Tyler, Minnesota. In mid-summer, due to their declining health, Rose elected to move to California to be near most of her children. George died at the Tyler Health Care Center on Sept. 7, 1999, at the age of 90 years, and 3 days.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Lake Benton, Minnesota, and the National Rifle Association and past member of Pipestone County A.S.C. Board and Altona Township Board. In his earlier years, he loved playing baseball as well as attending baseball games. Later in life, he was an avid Twins fan, very seldom missing a Twins game on TV or the radio. He also enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle and pitch, and he loved winning. Being a U.S. Citizen meant a lot to George and celebrating July 4th each year was a special event for him and his family. Throughout his lifetime, he enjoyed attending many auctions, collecting many cups and saucers as a hobby, as well as guns. He purchased over 500 guns during his lifetime, recently selling the last of his guns. He also enjoyed dancing for many years.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Rose Noble, of San Jose, California; five children, Lois and her husband, Paul Barnhart, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Blanche and her husband, Ray Zigtema, of Whitehouse, Texas, Harvey Noble, of Pipestone, Minnesota, Lyle and his wife, Donna Noble, of Omaha, Nebraska, and Lee Noble, of Arco, Minnesota; 20 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-greatgrandchildren; 13 step-children; one brother, Dale Noble, of Le Mars. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara; one son, Arnold Noble; his parents; four brothers and five sisters
