Services held for J. H. Van Peursem Funeral services were held for John H. Van Peursem, 72, of Maurice on May 3, 1972. He died of a heart attack at his home on April 29. Services were held at the Reformed Church with Rev. GaryVan Koeverlng officiating. Burial was in the Nassau Township Cemetery. Maurice.

Mr. Van Peursem was born to Mr. and Mrs, Henry (nee,Cynthia Boeyink) Van Peursem at Maurice on July 13,1899. Married Nellie Brink, Mav 10, 1920. He lived and farmed in the Maurice area all his life except near Merrill from 1932 until 1942. Moved to the town of Maurice and lived there until the time of his death. He was a member of the Consistory, on the Extension Council, Midwest Breeders and 4-H leader.

He is survived by his widow; daughters, Mrs. Ivan (Blanch) Schultz of Swanville, Minn., Mrs. Clair (Aimee Joyce) Heuslnkveld, MelBourne Beach, Fla.; son,Russell of Maurice; 14 grandchildren, two great- grandchildren; brothers, George of South Gate, Calif.; Ralph of Rochester, New York, Delbert of Saint Louis, Mo.; sisters, Mrs. Minnie Hoekstra, Slayton, Minn., Mrs. Al De Jager, Maurice, One granddaughter preceded him in death. Pallbearers were Ronald Schultz, Larry Schultz, Daniel Schultz, Tim Schultz, MarcVan Peursem and Craig Heusinkveld.
