Willemsen, Willem and Berendina Kleinlebbink

The Willem Willemsen family came to America in 1888 from Zutphen, Gelderland, Netherlands. They arrived in the train depot at Alton IA with their possessions and spent the first few years farming near Alton IA. About 1990 they settled one mile south of Middleburg, IA or about 5 miles east of Sioux Center in Capel Township section 32. Willem and Berendina Willemsen lived there the rest of their lives.
Their family are listed in the caption of the family picture of about 1898 that was in the Sioux Center Centennial book of 1991. They are as follows:

Father – Willem Willemsen 1832-1917 from Middleburg
Mother – Berendina Maria Kleinlebbink 1837-1923
1. Willem Willemsen 1855-1925 from Orange City
2. Hendrika Mrs. John Nyhuis 1856-1934 from Hull
3. Riendina Mrs. John Slothouber 1859-1930 from Hull
4. Antonia Mrs. Gerrit Sltohouber 1860-1938 from Middleburg
5. Berendina Mrs. Dick Oostenink 1862-1961 from Hull
6. Marie Mrs. John Sterrenberg 1864-1943 from Orange City
7. Willemia Mrs. Peter Van Meeveren 1866-? From Yakima WA
8. Gerrit Willemsen 1873-1916 from Middleburg
9. Hendrik ‘Henry’ Willemsen 1875-1952 from Sioux Center
10. Johanna Mrs. Gerrit Roggen 1877-1919 from Sheldon
