Employment: After graduating from high school, she moved to Denver, CO with her sister and one of her first jobs was with Greyhound Bus Lines. After her marriage, she and Marvin moved the family to Minden, IA; there, she worked as a cashier/stock clerk at the Blue and White Grocery. She then worked at Western Electric in Underwood, IA, where she made lifetime friendships with Lavonne Gunderson and Margaret Cook. After Betty’s parents passed away, Marvin and Betty moved to New Braunfels, TX where Betty did quilting and lots of babysitting. In May 2023, Betty and Marvin moved back to Harlan, IA and lived happily at the Hansen House.

Hobbies/Interests: While in Minden, Betty was active with the American Legion Auxiliary
