Funeral services: Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023; Trinity Lutheran Church, Persia, IA; burial was held at Valley View Cemetery, Persia, IA

Survived by: children, David (spouse, Jean) Stamp and Kurt (spouse, Caroline) Stamp; daughter-in-law, Kristine Stamp; siblings, Bob (spouse, Paula) Becker and Karean (spouse, Hal) Madsen; 8 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; other family members and friends

Predeceased by: Parents, Herbert William Becker and Esther Amelia (nee Davis) Becker; husband, John Stamp; son, Jack Stamp

Education: Graduated from Tenant (IA) High School, Class of 1951; in June she began attending Commercial Extension Business School in Omah, NE and graduated from there in the Spring of 1952

Religious affiliation: Member, Trinity Lutheran Church, Avoca, IA, and helped with the children activities, Sunday school and Vacation Bible School, and many church dinners and funerals.

Marriage: John Ferdinand Bauer Stamp; May 22, 1953; Immanuel Lutheran Church, Harlan, IA

Employment: After finishing her studies in Omaha, NE, Betty was employed by Fairbanks Morris (later, Beacon Van Storage). After her marriage, she was a farmer’s wife and very involved in helping fun the farm with John.

Hobbies/Interests: Loved gardening, canning, cooking and, over the years with the help of her sons, collected a huge amount of rocks off of the farm and built a very large rock garden filling it with many different flowers and shrubs; was a cub scout leader while her boys were growing up; in 1983 Betty was the chairperson for the Persia Centennial; Betty and John committed a lifetime to the community baseball program, helping to secure land for a new ball park and building, and running concessions
