Religious affiliation: Baptized and later confirmed at Jacksonville Lutheran Church, Jacksonville, Shelby County, IA; as an adult, she was an active member of the Kirkman (IA) United Methodist church and the Kirkman United Methodist Women

Marriage: Forrest Adams; July 21, 1943; at the home of her sister, Mata Littleton, in Omaha, NE.

Employment: Farmer’s wife; she not only worked with Forrest farming, she was actively involved in their trucking business and in raising quarter horses; Arlene also worked for a while as a cook with the Irwin-Kirkman (IA) school and in housekeeping at Elm Crest Nursing Home, Harlan, IA.

Hobbies/Interests: Active member of the Shelby County (IA) Saddle club; volunteered for several years at the Shelby County Fair oven products department; other activities included several neighborhood club organizations, including the White Ribbon Society, Ladies Night Out, the Red Hat Ladies and Myrtue Memorial Auxiliary; she enjoyed country western music and loved to go country western dancing with her husband; was an avid seamstress and quilt maker
