Military service: U. S. Air Force, 1950 to 1953

Marriage: Shirley Jean Gearhart; date and location not provided

Employment: Farmer; also worked as a postal carrier in rural Iowa, and was also employed as a school bus driver and by Western Engineering, a paving contractor in Shelby County. At 60, Lowell was hired as a Wildlife Specialist by the State of Oklahoma and worked there until he was 70.
