Survived by: Wife of 62 years, Marilyn; children, Tamara Wishard (spouse, Kevin) of Austin, TX, Todd Dahlof of Overland Park, KS and Trudy Gormley (spouse, Paul) of Marion, IA; granddaughters, Alexa Gormley of Ames, IA, Lauren Wishard of Austin, TX and Jaclyn Wishard of Malibu, CA; other family members and friends

Religious affiliation: Active member of the Redline Church of Christ, Redline, IA where he had served as an elder

Military service: Drafted into the U. S. Army and served from 1950-1952, during which he was stationed in Korea. In 2013, Donald was honored to be among the Korean Vets on a Freedom Flight to Washington, D.C.

Marriage: Marilyn Virginia Schrader; 1959; location not provided

Employment: Farmed with his father and brother, until they went into the trucking business in 1948. Donald continued to farm and to provide custom harvesting and trucking services to the community. Was a certified seed dealer.

Hobbies/Interests: Enjoyed traveling, especially with the Shelby County Commander’s Group; loved playing and winning Mexican train dominos games, attending races at the Shelby County Speedway, and shooting fireworks with his grandchildren; practiced soil conservation and served as a director for the Longbranch Watershed; belonged to the 8-Ball Aviation Club of Harlan, IA, the Iowa Corn Growers Association, the Southwest Iowa Farm Business Association, and the American Soybean Association.
