Military service: Enlisted immediately after high school in the U. S. Army; he served in Vietnam 1968 – 1969. After retiring from the IA Dept. of Transportation, he enlisted in the U. S. National Guard, from which he retired 22 years later.

Marriage: Carol Zacharias; Jan. 17, 1970; location not provided

Employment: Raised hogs; employed at Iowa Pork Plant for many years before he went to Texas and worked for Cox Farms. He returned to Iowa and was employed by the Iowa Department of Transportation until he retired. He then enlisted in the National Guards. He retired from the National Guards after 22 years.

Hobbies/Interests: enjoyed watching politics and western movies
