Religious affiliation: Member, St. Anne Catholic Church, Logan, IA; member, Knights of Columbus and was recently granted his Fourth Degree Knighthood

Military service: Iowa Army National Guard

Marriage: Judi Grothe; Dec. 18, 1976; Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie County, IA

Employment: Owned and operated the Gross Skelly Gas Station in Logan, IA; he then owned Midwest Iowa Realty and Midwest Builders and built custom homes. He also built the Logan Carwash and operated Tri M, a dumpster roll-off business, and stayed busy with several rental properties.

Hobbies/Interests: Was actively involved in Boy Scouts and had served as a Scoutmaster at the National Jamboree; loved to hunt and fish, enjoying an annual fishing trip with his brothers, and later with his sons, to Northeast Iowa for over 40 years; loved riding his Harley; enjoyed making sausage and jerky; watching his sons’ sporting events
