Survived by: Wife of nearly 63 years, Dona (nee Smith) Crandall of Dunlap, IA; children, Donald C. (spouse, Romona) Crandall of Omaha, NE, Cristi (spouse, Mark) Zack of Missouri Valley, IA, Charles Crandall of Omaha, NE and Deneen Healey of Logan, IA; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends

Predeceased by: Parents, Sofy and Jessie (nee Adamson) Crandall; brother and sister-in-law, Clyde and Ethel Crandall; half-brother and sister-in-law, Frederick and Agnes Lenz; son-in-law, Stephen Healey

Employment: Worked for a variety of employers throughout his life: At 18, he worked construction, including helping to build the bridge near Woodbine on Hwy 30. He and Dona moved to Pueblo, CO in 1956, and he worked for Dale Rice Lumber Company and became Assistant Manager. In 1967, he moved his family back to their Dunlap, IA farm, and simultaneously farmed, had livestock and worked at OM Steel. Because of health issues, he retired from farming and went to work at Hedstrom Concrete in Woodbine, IA, then at Mefferd Trucking in Council Bluffs, IA, followed by Dunlap Fertilizer. Lastly, he was employed by Dilt’s Trucking. Due to his health issues, Jack retired earlier than he’d planned.

Hobbies/Interests: Member, Lazy H Square Dance Club; member, Woodbine Saddle Club; loved attending tractor pulls and pickup pulls; enjoyed playing cards and board games; built the home he lived in for 60+ years; enjoyed leather work, making billfolds, jewelry, and belts for family members; enjoyed woodworking and built beautiful replicas of his farm buildings, a nativity, and sleds out of toothpicks and popsicle sticks. Mostly, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
