Survived by: Wife of 58 years, Frieda Peterson of Oakland, IA; daughters, Rosina Peterson of Council Bluffs, IA, and Peggy (spouse, Robert) Engle of Treynor, IA; sons, Mike (spouse, Jackie) Peterson of Logan, IA, Steve Peterson of Rancho Cordova, CA, and Mark Peterson of Oakland, IA; brothers, Dr. Robert “Buzz” Peterson of Norton, KS, Dr. Paul S. (spouse, Alice) Peterson of Carmichael, CA, and Dean Peterson of Harlan, IA; 5 grandsons; other relatives and friends

Predeceased by: Parents, William Harley and Eldora Anna (nee Struve) Peterson; infant granddaughters, Faith and Hope Engle

Education: Attended country school at Rabbit Hollow, Shelby County, IA; graduated from Harlan High School with the Class of 1955

Religious affiliation: member, First Baptist Church, Harlan, IA

Military service: Enlisted in the U. S. Air Force, serving from 1957-1961

Marriage: Frieda Herta Schörner; Aug. 16, 1960; Oberkotzau, Germany

Employment: For a couple of years after high school, Everett helped his father on the family farm. Then, after his marriage and return to Harlan, IA from Germany in 1961, the couple farmed northeast of town and raised hogs, as well as helping Everett’s parents farm the family land. He also helped other family members in the area and had other employment. Everett then began working for Western Electric in Millard, NE; he remained in this job for 36 years. In the fall of 1970, Everett and Frieda moved to a farm outside of McClelland, IA, where Everett continued to farm, raise hogs and cattle, and work at Western Electric.

Hobbies/Interests: An avid John Deere collector; loved to attend farm auctions and antique tractor and engine shows
