Employment: hairdresser; she would later help her husband on their farm, while milking cows and then raising minks; when her children were older, she worked at Dairy Queen while still styling hair for family and friends. In 1990, the family moved to Kirkman, IA where Linda and Lyle worked together at a chicken farm. In 1997, they moved to Irwin, IA and Linda began working at Earl May Nursery in Harlan, and later at the Country Store in Irwin, IA; she worked there until she retired in 2011.
