Funeral services for Elmer E. Ewoldt, 79, Walcott, were held Aug. 17, 1996 at Lacock-Bentley Funeral Home in Durant, with the Rev. David Lawson officiating. Pallbearers were Kenneth Leach, Robert Golenhorst, Wayne Ralfs, Dennis Dettman, Donald Dettman and Wayne Kraft. Burial was in the Durant cemetery.

Mr. Ewoldt died Aug. 14 at Genesis West Medical Center in Davenport.

The son of Herman and Fannie Eilers Ewoldt, he was born April 25, 1917 in Scott county. He married Orline M. Hamann Feb. 24, 1945 in Davenport. She died May 4, 1989.

Mr. Ewoldt farmed in Cedar county until retiring in 1971.

He served in the U.S. Army in 1946 and 1947.

Mr. Ewoldt was a member of the Walcott Club. He loved to fish and play cards.

He is survived by a sister, Mildred Dettman, Davenport; and 2 brothers, Vernon, Durant and Lloyd, Davenport. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a sister, Mabel.
