Funeral services for Doris Pierre, 60, Davenport, will be held at 10 a.m. today, Wednesday, July 10, 1996 at The Runge Mortuary in Davenport, with burial in Inland cemetery, rural Bennett.

Mrs. Pierre died July 7 at her home in Davenport, following an extended illness.

The daughter of Charles and Myrtle Olson Moeller, she was born Oct. 7, 1945 in Davenport. She was raised in the New Liberty area.

Mrs. Pierre had been employed as a printing representative with Pinney Printing in Davenport.

She was the founder of the Mississippi Valley Blues Society and Festival. She also founded the Riverssance Art Festival in Davenport. She was interested in Native American culture.

Mrs. Pierre is survived by her mother; 2 daughters, Nathalie Pierre, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; and Sonia Pierre, Coal Valley; a son, Steve Pierre, Montreal, Quebec; a granddaughter, Shannon Bain, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; a sister, Jeanette Beckman, Winter Springs, Fla.; 2 brothers, Wes Moeller and LeRoy Moeller, both of New Liberty; and a special friend, Steve Johnson, Davenport.
