Funeral services for August Hamann, 93, Davenport, were held Feb. 27, 1996 at the Holy Family Catholic church, with burial in the Mt. Calvary cemetery, Davenport.

Mr. Hamann died Feb. 26 at the Davenport Lutheran Home.

The son of August and Minnie Leptien Hamann, he was born Nov. 14, 1902 in Eldridge. He married Mary Werthmann April 20, 1927 in Davenport. She died Feb. 8, 1996.

Mr. Hamann was a farmer in the Eldridge area and was a lifelong resident of the area.

He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic church. He was a member of several card clubs.

Mr. Hamann is survived by 2 daughters, Myra (Mrs. William) Schroeder, Davenport and Marilyn (Mrs. Duane) Litscher, Stanwood; a son, Lawrence Hamann, Eldridge; 21 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; a sister, Elna (Mrs. Franz) Albrecht, Eldridge; and a brother, Lothar Hamann, Davenport. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a daughter, Bernadine (Mrs. Don) Burmeister; and a sister, Leona Werthmann.

Memorials may be made to the Holy Family church or the Davenport Lutheran Home.
