Funeral services for Marvin L. Scharff Sr., 70, Davenport, were held Feb 6, 1996 at Immanuel Lutheran church, with burial in the Walcott cemetery.
Mr. Scharff died Feb. 2 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, in Davenport, following an extended illness.
The son of George and Pearl Norton Scharff, he was born May 25, 1925 in Princeton. He married Dorothy L. Ketelsen June 29, 1946 in Bennett.
Mr. Scharff was self-employed in the trucking industry for 50 years.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran church. He enjoyed word puzzles, gardening and spending time with his family.
Mr. Scharff is survived by his wife; 4 daughters, Mrs. Del (Darlene) Lindhorst; Davenport; Mrs. Steven (Kathleen) Daack, Milan, Ill.; Carolyn Howell, Wilton; and Mrs. Arlo (Marilyn) Kleppe, Moscow; a son and daughter-in-law, Marvin L. and Sue Scharff, Jr., Muscatine; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Eileen Scharff, Davenport; and 2 nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Leonard Scharff and 2 nephews.
