Funeral services for Mary M. Hamann, 89, Davenport, were held Feb. 10, 1996 at the Holy Family church in Davenport, with burial in Mt. Calvary cemetery, Davenport.
Mrs. Hamann died Feb. 8 at the Davenport Lutheran Home, following a brief illness.
The daughter of John and Minnie Geurink Werthmann, she was born Aug. 15, 1906 in Eldridge. She married August Hamann April 20, 1927 at the Holy Family church in Davenport.
Mrs. Hamann had been a seamstress most of her life and worked for the former Petersen Harned VonMaur Co., retiring in 1969.
She enjoyed growing and tending her flowers. She also enjoyed sewing.
Mrs. Hamann is survived by 2 daughters, Myra (Mrs. William) Schroeder, Davenport and Marilyn (Mrs. Duane) Litscher, Stanwood; a son, Lawrence Hamann, Eldridge; 21 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; a sister, Eva Caruso, Northbrook, Ill.; and a brother, Julius Werthmann, Davenport. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Bernadine Burmeister, April 7, 1987.
Memorials may be made to the Holy Family church or the American Cancer Society.
