Funeral services for Valeria M. Edler, 89, Durant, were held Nov. 3, 1995 at the Peace Church of Christ United in Bennett, with the Rev. Robert Treichel officiating. Lenora Speer was the organist and vocalists were Nancy Chittick and Julie Wilkins. Pallbearers were Dennis Siebke, Chris Reedy, Kent Reedy, Lonnie Ehlers, Curtis Reedy and Jerry Dammeier. Honorary pallbearers were Norman Rekemeyer and Gerald Lage. Burial was in the Memorial Park cemetery, Davenport.
Mrs. Edler died Nov. 1 at the Wilton Care Center in Wilton.
The daughter of Otto and Bertha Paustian Voss, she was born Nov. 28, 1905 in Scott county. She married John Bouchaute Jan. 20, 1926 in Davenport. He died in 1961. She married Fred Edler Feb. 17, 1968 in Davenport.
Mrs. Edler was a homemaker. She was a member of Peace Church of Christ United in Bennett, Durant Senior Citizens, Moose Lodge No. 28 and the Putnam Museum.
She is survived by her husband in Durant; a son, Howard Bouchaute, New Liberty; 2 daughters, Florence (Mrs. LeRoy) Reedy, Davenport and Ethel Henning, Eldridge; a step-daughter, Darlene (Mrs. Paul) Dammeier, Bettendorf; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a brother, Waldo Voss, Davenport; and 2 sisters, Norma (Mrs. Roscoe) Woods, New Liberty and Dorothy Titus, Moline, Ill. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, a sister and 2 brothers.
Memorials may be made to the Durant ambulance.
