Funeral services for Ernest F. Henning, 74, Walcott, were held Nov. 6, 1995 at the Lacock-Bentley Funeral Home in Durant, with the Rev. John Rosenberger officiating. Pallbearers were Richard and Dodi Bernatz, Brian and Daron Moroney, and Clint and Jason Hennings. Burial was in the Walcott cemetery.

Mr. Henning died Nov. 4 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport.

The son of Louis and Wilma Zabel Henning, he was born Dec. 28, 1920 in McCausland. He married Verna Sothmann Aug. 12, 1944 in Davenport.

Mr. Henning farmed in Clinton and Scott counties, moving to Walcott in 1963. He worked for the State Highway Commission and Dietz's Ford Garage in Walcott until retiring in 1986.

He was a member of the Quad City Times Plus 60 Club. He enjoyed his family, friends, fishing and fixing things.

Mr. Henning is survived by his wife; 2 daughters, Verlynn (Mrs. Richard) Moroney, South Vienna, Ohio and Renae (Mrs. Larry) Perrine, Albuquerque, N.M.; a son, Lyndon "Ernie" Henning, Davenport; a sister, Wanda Rathje, Davenport; 2 brothers, Lloyd, Tucson, Ariz. and Russell, Davenport; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and 5 brothers.
