Elsie Rodts, 91, of Moline, passed away Monday, August 15, 2022 at Park Vista, East Moline.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 am Monday, August 22, 2022 at Sacred Heart Church, Moline. Visitation will be 9-10:45 am at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111 – 1st Street A, Moline, with a Sacred Heart Altar and Rosary Society rosary recited at 10:45 am. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Elsie was born January 5, 1931 in Warrington, England, the daughter of Alfred and Maggie (Clare) Rankin. She married Robert E. Rodts on March 7, 1953 in Warrington, England. He preceded her in death on May 6, 2001.
Elsie worked at Seton School in Moline. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, and the Altar and Rosary Society and she enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include her son, Robert J. Rodts, Moline and his children, Erin (Ron) Payne, Sarah (Mike) Furnari and Lucas (Stacie) Rodts, and grandchildren, Violet, Jack, Bianca, Georgia, Benjamin, Dashiell, Ivy, Charlotte and Trey; son, David (Sylvia) Rodts, Coal Valley, children, Brandon (Cristina), Selena and Evan (Sierra) Rodts and grandchildren, Alexandra, Spencer and Scott; daughter, Valerie (John) Yazbec, East Moline and children, Nicholas (Ashley), Peter (Jessica), and Ian (Ashley) Yazbec, and grandchildren, Addison, Rowan, Makenna, Finnigan, Sawyer, Maylee and Nolan; son, James (Katie) Rodts, Grant, FL and children, Michael (Stacey), Andrew (Kelly), Benjamin (Karen) and Megan Rodts, and grandchildren, Savannah, Hunter, Nora and Dexter; and son, Steven (Victoria) Rodts, Commerce Township, MI, and child, Joseph Rodts; brother-in-law, Ed Rodts; sister-in-law, Judy Rodts; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Denise Sherril and siblings, Alice, Susanna, Olivia, Alfred, Maud, James, Percy and Margaret.
