Davenport, Iowa

Archie Houk Sr., age 57, of Davenport, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus surrounded by his loving family. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. The family will greet friends from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

Archie was born on November 28, 1964 in Mercer, MO, to John and Joyce (Hicks) Houk.

Archie was employed at Edwards Bakery, and most recently at Sears Manufacturing.

Archie enjoyed his Harley-Davidson, and was a big fan of the Miami Dolphins and UFC. Most of all he loved time spent with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Jo; sons, Archie (Nicole) Houk Jr, and Ryan Houk; daughters, Ashley (Parris) Houk, Kelly (Julio Garcia Sr.) Houk, and Kayla Houk; grandchildren, Jordan, Xaine, Shylee, Jaxson, Kinsley, Archie III, Edgar, Julio Jr, and Azel; brothers, Terry (Stacey) Houk, and Mark (Kim) Houk; sisters, Veta Burney, and Katrina Houk.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, John and Mike.

Archie wanted everyone to know of all the love Betty Jo provided in working to keep him comfortable with all the care he needed this past year.

The family asks that you are welcome to wear your Harley attire for the visitation and funeral.
