March 27, 1929-October 9, 2021

Coy Ellen Couchman, 92, of Davenport, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Clarissa Cook Hospice House. Cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 16. 2021 at 12 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorials may go to the Clarissa Cook Hospice House. She was born on March 27, 1929, in rural Sewal, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence L. and Grace (Parker) Couchman. Coy was baptized in 1943 at the Methodist Church in Sewal and graduated from Sewal Consolidated School in 1946. She moved to Davenport in 1947. She worked a short time at Red Jacket Pump Company and later worked for Shannon's Cafeteria, McNamara's Look Sharp Cleaners and lastly for Hy-Vee. She loved quilting and playing bingo. One of her greatest joys was bowling in which she bowled for 50 years on several area leagues with her sister, Reva McBride.

Those left to honor her memory include sister-in-law, Lenora Couchman, Corydon, Iowa, nieces and nephews: Carolyn (Keith, dec.) Brinkley, Phoenix, Verla (David) Pitzen, Henderson, NV, Anita (Jim, dec.) Williams, Chariton, IA, Connie (Bob) Risbeck, FL, Grace Ann (Randy) Roe, Allerton, IA, Gerald (Chris) Couchman, Corydon, IA and Jeanette (Randy) Brown, Chariton, IA, niece-in-law, Kathy McBride and numerous great nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and her friends at Luther Crest Towers.

In addition to her parents, Coy was preceded in death by sisters and spouses: Merl (Dean) Brewer and Reva (Clyde) McBride, infant brother, Leroy, brothers Dallas and Seldon Couchman, niece and husband, Pam (Jim) Franklin and nephews, Rick McBride, Kenneth Brewer and Daryl and wife, (Edith) Brewer.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Clarissa Cook for the wonderful care shown to Coy and her family.
