Funeral services for Claus M. Gimm, 66, Durant, were held Sept. 10 at Durant with the Rev. W. R. Garren officiating. Burial was in the Durant cemetery.

Mr. Gimm died at 3:10 a.m. Sept. 7 at Mercy hospital, Davenport, following an extended illness.

The son of Frank and Clara Gimm, he was born in Scott county, Jan. 14, 1902. He had been a resident of Durant for 30 years.

Claus Gimm married the former Alice Querl, March 10, 1930 at Newton. He was a member of the Gloria Dei Lutheran church, Durant.

Mr. Gimm had been a construction worker at Durant until retiring 5 years ago.

Survivors are the widow; 3 sons, Gordon, with the U.S. Air Force at Chandler, Ariz.; David, with the U.S. Navy, Newport, R.I. and Paul, with the U.S. Marines at Yuma, Ariz.; 3 daughters, Mrs. John (Garnetta) Luethye, Watkins; Mrs. James (Lila) Blake, Fort Worth, Texas and Mrs. Edwin (Merna) Behnke, Durant; a brother, Frank Gimm, Davenport; 3 sisters, Mrs. Emil (Verna) Lamp, Davenport; Mrs. Leona Carpenter, Omaha, Neb. and Mrs. Mildred McQuillen, Greeley, Colo.; also 9 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter and 2 brothers.
