MOLINE-Marvin A. Hanson, 86, passed away peacefully Saturday July 17, 2021, at Heartland Health Care Center in Moline, IL.

Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded, and graveside services will be held privately with family.

Marvin was born September 24, 1934, in Fairmount, ND, the son of Adolph and Irene (Gabbert) Hanson. He married Barbara Mae Hoskins on August 21, 1954, in Ottawa, IL. She preceded him in death on May 24, 2013.

Upon arriving in the Quad Cities in the early 1950s, he worked at Gould Battery in Rock Island. He also worked for Orchard Hill Farm in Moline, and for Deere-Wiman Estate in the early 1960s. He was employed at Collinson Stone Company in Milan for 40 years, retiring in 2005.

Marvin enjoyed working on cars, was an avid reader and took great pride in his yard. He enjoyed being a grandfather, great- grandfather and great-great-grandfather.

He will be deeply missed; by his daughters, Sherry Duburg of Moline and Kathy Peterson of Rock Island; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Betsy Hanson of Milan; grandchildren, Josh Duburg, Kali Peterson, Colin Hanson, Tiffany Hoyt and Austin Hoyt; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter, and special friends Gene and Debbie Lingafelter.
