George Ertl, 87, Dies; Funeral to be Tuesday

Services will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bettendorf, for George Ertl, 87, of 1530 Grant St., Bettendorf, who died Sunday in his home.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the McGinnis Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Rosary will be 8 p.m. today in the funeral home and burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Born in Austria, he married Johanna Doetl in Austria in 1904. They came to America and Betttendorf in 1913. In his early years Mr. Ertl was employed by Ordinance Steel and the Zimmerman Plant both in Bettendorf, and later by the city of Bettendorf.

He is survived by his wife; and grandchildren, Kenneth, St. Louis, Mo., Lawrence, Davenport, and Daniel and Judith Ann, both of Bettendorf.
