Frank Petersen, pioneer resident of Scott county, died at his home in Davenport Saturday morning following a brief illness. Mr. Petersen was born near New Liberty, Ia., April 10, 1864. He was united in marriage to Miss Laura Goettsch, Sept. 16, 1887. Following their marriage they resided on a farm near Wilton, and later near Atalissa for twenty years. Surviving are four sons, Harry, Clarence, Harvey and Albert, all of Atalissa; three daughters, Miss Elsie at home; Mrs. John P. Smith, West Liberty; Mrs. W. M. Sharpless, Tipton; one sister, Mrs. W. F. Jons, Los Angeles; three brothers, and nine grandchildren. Interment was made at Durant cemetery.
