Services for Chester E. Kyle, 78, of Davenport, will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Runge Chapel. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park.
Visitation is 3 to 9 p.m. today.

Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, Davenport, or to Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital, Chicago.

Mr. Kyle died Monday, August 18th at Osteopathic Hospital.

He owned and operated Kyle's Barber Shop, Davenport, for 59 years, retiring in May 1980.
He married Louise Winder in 1935 in Muscatine, IA. She died in 1970. He married Helen Bowers in 1972 in Davenport.

Mr. Kyle was a member of Modern Woodmen of America; Roosevelt Masonic Lodge 626, AF & AM; Davenport Consistory Choir; and Masonic Lodge 28, Davenport. He was a member of Kaaba Shrine, and in 1947, he organized the Shrine Chanters. He was a member of the First Christian Church Choir, and of Barbers Local 116.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Mrs. John (Grace) Guenther, and Mrs. Richard (Mary) Richardson, both of Davenport; and a son, Ronald, Stockton, CA. 7 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sisters, Isabelle Johnson, Muscatine; Mrs. George (Carol) Thompson, Carthage, IL; and Mrs. Orren (Kathryn) Flanders, Riverside, RI.
