Andrea Kay VandeWalle Johannsen, 66, of Bettendorf, IA, the mother of local businessman and community leader, Jeffrey Johannsen, died Sunday, January 11, 2009, following an eight year battle with sarcoidosis and amyloidosis.

Andrea was born in Davenport in 1942 to Albert "AC" and Marie VandeWalle. She worked for CPC Pregnancy Resources in the Quad Cities as a Marketing Director, retiring in 2007. She had been in radio as an Account Executive, Sales Manager and a Public Affairs Director and was very active in bringing in many national artists for Christian concerts.

Visitation will be 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge, Davenport. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Sunday, January 25, at River of Life Church, 4855 Forest Grove Drive, Bettendorf.

Survivors include her son, Jeffrey of Des Moines, IA; mother, Marie VandeWalle; and brother, Curtis (Leslie) VandeWalle, all of San Luis Obispo, CA; and sister, Dr. Denise VandeWalle of Alamosa, CO; and mother-in-law, Gladys Johannsen of Pleasant Valley, IA. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheri, son, Kirk, father, Albert, and husband, Howard Johannsen, Jr.
