June 20, 1950 - April 22, 2020

Lon C. Lippincott, age 69, of Odebolt, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at the Loring Hospital in Sac City, Iowa.

Due to state and federal mandated guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The Christensen - Van Houten Funeral Home of Odebolt, Iowa, is in charge of the funeral arrangements.

Lon “Lonnie” Curtis Lippincott, the son of Leo and Lueleen “Midge” (Cox) Lippincott, was born on June 20, 1950, in Ida Grove, Iowa. He grew up in Arthur, Iowa and graduated from Odebolt-Arthur High School with the class of 1968. After high school, Lonnie attended Iowa Central Community College and later enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. in 1970. He served his country during the Vietnam war and was honorably discharged in 1974.

On October 17, 1970, Lonnie married Kathy Lange and they had three children: Brenda, Amanda “Mandee” and Cody. Lonnie farmed and also did flooring installation for his career. After retiring from both he continued to work in carpentry with his brother Jeff Lippincott.

Lonnie enjoyed the great outdoors hunting with his family and friends. His hunting friends gave him the nickname “Doc” on one of their many hunting trips. Lonnie also loved to fish and garden. He was a beloved father, grandfather and friend of many. Lonnie’s six grandchildren were the light of his life.

Left to cherish his memory include his daughter Brenda Lippincott Baker of Odebolt, IA; daughter Amanda “Mandee” (Shane) Stephenson of La Vista, NE; son Lon “Cody” (Erika) Lippincott of Johnston, IA; grandchildren: Drew and Brendan Baker, Kyla and Wyatt Stephenson, and Kate and Kenna Lippincott; mother Lueleen “Midge” Lippincott of Arthur IA; sister Janet (Darrel) Bobzien of Odebolt, IA; brother Jeff (Charlene) Lippincott of Early, IA and sister Nancy Simon of Sutherland, IA.

He was preceded in death by his father Leo Lippincott; and brother-in-law Gary Simon.
