Ronald Lee Mobley, youngest son of Burl and Martena (Vanderpluym) Mobley, was born on February 28, 1951 at Creston Community Hospital. Ron was welcomed into the family by his older brother, Glee. Ron spent his childhood on the family farm near Benton, Iowa. He attended Mount Ayr High School and graduated with the class of 1969. While in school, Ron enjoyed playing football, baseball and riding horses.

On January 23, 1971, Ron was united in marriage to Sue Siverly at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Maloy, Iowa. Ron and Sue made their home just south of the “Goose Pond Corner” and raised three children: Greg and twins Brian and Marci. Ron farmed and took care of the land his entire life. He formed Mobley Construction in the 1980’s. Ron and his sons worked side by side digging ponds, building terraces, and clearing trees in Ringgold County and the surrounding area.

Family was the center of Ron’s life. He loved spending time with his brother, his children and five wonderful granddaughters. Ron enjoyed crop touring, horses and hunting. Many snowy days were spent running his coyote hounds. Ron always took the time to sit and visit with family and friends. His ability to talk to anyone about anything led to many lifelong friends.

Ron passed away on June 5, 2018 at the Ringgold County Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents; Burl and Martena Mobley and son-in-law, Garry Bjustrom.
