OBITUARY ~ JASON MATTHEW CONN
January 03, 1979 ~ May 21, 2018

Jason Matthew Conn was born January 3, 1979 in Omaha, Nebraska to Dale Larry Conn and Diane Kay (Dittman) Conn. He was welcomed home by his sister, Angela Marie. The family lived in Pacific Junction, Henderson, Leon, and Los Lunas, New Mexico. Jason attended Nishna Valley School and obtained his GED in January of 1997. He went on to attend SWCC and completed the carpentry course in May 1998, in which they built a house in Creston from the basement on up. During his schooling at Creston, he delivered the Creston News Advertiser. Over the years, he worked for Champion Windows and Siding, Cooper Investment as a subcontractor, traveled for Pressroom Cleaners, he was a self-employed carpenter and maintenance, worked for Pizza Hut, Caseys, Phillips 66 and Eddys Phillips 66. Jason tried his hand as a semi driver but did not want to be away from his family for too long. Lastly, he worked as head cook at Sun Valley Clubhouse the last four years.

Jason met Carol Lantz, and in 2000, Avery Michael Conn was born. He met Chantel (Chantie) Goines and in 2006, Ashton Air Conn was born. Jason loved to watch pro basketball and was a big fan of Michael Jordan; thus, Avery’s middle name was Michael and Ashton’s middle name is Air. Jason married Amy Miller on April 20, 2015 but separated in January 2016.

Jason passed away May 21, 2018 at his home in Kellerton.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Donna Dittman and Ivan and Opal Conn; niece Rosalyn Clarke; Ashton’s mom, Chantel Goines; and numerous aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his parents Dale and Diane Conn of Mount Ayr; sons Avery and Ashton Conn of Kellerton; sister Angela (Kevin) Clarke, nephew Justin Clarke and niece Lacie Clarke, all of Stuart, IA; uncle Bill (Carol) Dittman of Killdeer, North Dakota; numerous cousins; and his faithful and man’s best friend, Koda.

Visitation will be held at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr on Tuesday, June 5 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jerry Wagoner officiating. A memorial fund has been established in his name to be decided later. Online condolences may be left at www.armstrongfh.com.
