John A. Jackson, age 88, a resident of Annandale passed away on August 6, 2011. He was a WW II veteran, a retired Federal Government Employee, an active sportsman and gardener, and a wonderful father and grandfather. He is survived by two daughters, Debbie (Jeff) Geiger and Donna Jackson; three grandchildren, Caitlin, Rachel and Rebecca. His wife Hallie preceded him in death in 2002. Visitation will be on Friday, August 12, 2011 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Demaine Funeral Home Springfield. Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 13, 2011, 11am at Annandale United Methodist Church 6935 Columbia Pike Annandale, VA22003, 703-256-8330 with burial following in the church cemetery. Notes added by Ken Baker. He was the son of Della Spencer Jackson, his sister was Rohma Jackson Allen. He was an avid cross country long distance bicyclist. He grew up in Kellerton and attended Kellerton High School. He often returned to his hometown of Kellerton and he also always liked to take part in the Registers Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa RAGBRAI.
