Luther Earl "Luke" SHELDON, 83, of San Angelo died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 1998, in a local hospital. Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Christian Church with the Rev. Ben G. HUBERT officiating. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Johnson's Funeral Home.
He was born Sept. 2, 1914, in Mount Ayr, Iowa. A World War II veteran, he had been a manager of Sherwood Oil Co. and was a member of the First Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn SHELDON of San Angelo; a daughter, Mollie POLHEMUS of Miles; three brothers, Gerald SHELDON of Des Moines, Iowa, Richard SHELDON of Tucson, Ariz., and Lyndon SHELDON of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three sisters, Maxine DENGLE, Dorothy CATTERSON and Doris OLNEY, all of Des Moines; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
