Richard Vincent Bowers (Dick) of Montezuma passed away Sunday, January 5, 2014 at the age of 95. He was a life-long resident of Montezuma and was married to Doris M Bowers for 71 years until her death in April, 2013. Dick was a general contractor who owned and operated Bowers Construction Company. He was Montezuma Volunteer fire chief for 24 years with a passion for fire prevention, safety, and training at both the local and state levels. He served in the United States Navy as a Seabee and was a proud World War II veteran, a Mason and a Shriner. He was tenacious and outspoken for causes in which he believed. Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 10:30 am at the Community Hope Church in Montezuma.
