Obituary

MILLARD MCFARLAND

Funeral services for a former Cottage Grove resident, Millard F. McFarland, 59, were held Feb. 11 in the First Presbyterian Church in Salem. He died Feb. 8.

Mr. McFarland, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank McFarland, early Cottage Grove settlers, was born in Portland and raised in Cottage Grove.

He was a trustee of the First Presbyterian Church of Salem, a member of the International Association of Personnel Employment Security and Vista Lodge, AF & AM, and a University of Oregon graduate. He was a retired chief appeals referee for the State Employment Division.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis of Salem; a daughter, Cathie Lundeen of Beaverton; a step-brother and two step-sisters, Wayne Veatch of Pasadena, Calif., Enid Leedy of Newberg and Mrs. L.C. Clark of Redmond.

Interment was in Fir Grove Cemetery in Cottage Grove with Barrick Mortuary in charge.
